About Us
We build next-generation AI that enables robots to perceive and understand the world—paving the way to full autonomy.
What we do
Make autonomous mobility safer
We enhance the safety of autonomous mobility by integrating advanced AI into real-time decision-making systems.
Enable intelligent perception
We equip drones and vehicles—on land, air, and sea—with intelligent perception powered by cutting-edge machine learning. Our AI enables them to understand their surroundings and make informed decisions for safe, autonomous operation in complex environments.
Build trust in autonomy
We build trust in autonomy with reliable, safety-driven software built for complex environments. Our solutions enable vehicles and drones to operate with precision and confidence—advancing a safer future for mobility.
our journey
20

Team members of Valeo® had the idea of safe AI for software-defined vehicles during their work on the Mobileye® front camera series.
16

In 2018, the company was founded by Dr. Stefan Milz and Tobias Rüdiger with a first prototype.
18

Initial customer traction led to a seed financing: “Million funding for Spleenlab”, by BMT & APEX Ventures.
First Employees from leading companies such as Continental®, IAV® and Valeo® joined. The Team grew up to 20 people.
20

The distinctive technology was backed by first international patents in Germany, Europe and USA.
Furthermore, the first series contract was won, and the first international customers from the USA ordered Spleenlab® technology.
22

“First edge AI in operation at the German Armed Forces.” Pre-Series A funding in 2023 with 40+ employees.
Running in various series projects. With over 40 customers, Spleenlab® is active in large automotive RFQs and applies various safety certifications.
24

Following its acquisition by Quantum Systems in October 2025, Spleenlab became part of one of Europe's leading providers of autonomous systems and multi-domain robotics and joined the group's AI Center of Excellence.
Today, we develop AI perception and autonomy technologies that accelerate next-generation autonomous systems across air, land, and maritime domains.
In November 2025, Spleenlab won the Thuringian Innovation Award in the Digital & Media category for the development of its VISIONAIRY® AI perception software for autonomous mobility.
25

In March 2026, the acquisition of Spleenlab by the Quantum Systems Group was highlighted by the Minister-President of Thuringia, Mario Voigt, as a success story for Thuringia's technology ecosystem.
During a joint press conference, the importance of the company's locations in Jena and Saalburg-Ebersdorf for cutting-edge AI and autonomous systems development was emphasized.
Supported by continued growth to nearly 60 employees, both locations continue to expand as key innovation hubs within the Quantum Systems Group.
