Weimar, November 26, 2025 – Spleenlab has been awarded the Thuringian Innovation Award 2025 in the category Digital & Media. The jury recognized the technological excellence and innovative strength of our AI-based software solution VISIONAIRY®, which enables the safe and reliable autonomy of airborne and ground-based systems.

We are excited to announce that Serkan Arslan has joined Speenlab’s Advisory Board. He brings a wealth of expertise, shaped by more than 25 years of experience. The first half of his career was dedicated to the traditional automotive industry, working with Mercedes-Benz and Aptiv. In the latter half, he transitioned to cutting-edge fields like software, AI, and startups, holding leadership positions at NVIDIA, Luxoft, and Apex.AI.

Despite the difficult market situation, Spleenlab closes 2023 extremely successfully. The number of prominent customers doubled, a significant increase in sales was recorded and, thanks to 14 new hires, almost 36 employees now work at the sites in Saalburg-Ebersdorf and Jena.

On March 05 we held a welcome party to inaugurate our new offices in the Jentower. Our floor neighbors from Ironshark were among the guests. It was a very pleasant event with good food and drinks organized by our great employees from the Jena office.

In December 2023, Spleenlab tested a completely new concept in the field of autonomous mobility for the first time. At the premises of BrigkAIR, a start-up incubator in Ingolstadt, ideas and proposals for the technical implementation were concretised and finalised by a team of engineers and creative minds.

Spleenlab’s approach is to break down the vision of fully autonomous flight into its sub-steps and fully automate these individual processes using AI-based applications. One of the most critical phases of autonomous flight is landing, where a large number of variable factors play a role.

Dezember 11, 2023 10:43 am On Thursday, 7 December, our annual Christmas party took place at #Spleenlab. This year we visited the Christmas market in Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia, to enjoy the legendary mulled wine and a few sweets.

During the Digital Gipfel 2023 , our CEO Dr. Stefan Milz met the State Secretary of the Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr (BMDV) Daniela Kluckert and Christian Gerlitz, Mayor of the City of Jena. They were given an interactive insight into Spleenlab’s VISIONAIRY® perception software for autonomous driving during a ride on our demo bus. It became clear how important Jena is as a location for innovative companies and the development of pioneering technologies.

At IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich, we had our partnership PR event with Apex.AI. Our Co-CEO & CTO Dr. Stefan Milz presented together with Serkan Arslan, Senior VP Global Business of Apex.AI the launch of VISIONAIRY® Online Calibration on Apex.Grace™.
